Forgot to mention : D-Vision also has the feature to embed (preserve) the subtitles carried over from MTR/DVD2One extraction, as you're joining the vob files.

    Hi

I'm new to this forum and haven't read all the replies so if I'm repeating someone, I apologize.

Here's what worked for me. I have Mac OS 10.5.7.

I converted the PAL disc in HandBrake 0.9.3 (which is a free download) to an m4v file. I selected video code MPEG-4 (FFmpeg). Framerate (FPS) - I selected 29.97 (NTSC Video).

I sent the m4v file to 4Media DVD Creater (this is not free but I think you can download and try it out). Select your resolution, etc. and you've got an NTSC disc. I converted a concert which is about an hour long and total time was about 1-1/2 hours for the total conversion.

Hope this helps somebody. Looking forward to any feedback.

    3. Recompress to DVD via Compressor

    4. Launch DVDSP 2.0 and recompose menu. Correct LBX aspect ratio here via each video stream.
Which presets settings are we to use? I came to this post from another place (mahalo answers) which quoted this (without telling me) and I'm just curious as to which presets I should be using...

I also used handbrake to convert the video I have into an iPod format - did a fantastic job. May try it to do a conversion, but I would like to use a format that does less compression. Otherwise its great (but two transcodes isn't ideal)

if you want quality, use a software that do transcoding
    - jes deinterlacer (free): great to convert framerate PAL <-> NTSC (all frames will be recalculate by interpollation, slow but smooth)
    - mpegStreamClip (free): not too bad to convert framerate (with blend, faster but less good)
all other software does duplication or removing of frames (to adapte the source standard to the destination standard, result is jerks!)
    so avoid them

    bye
