Yes, Hot off the presses, was just there yesterday in Milford, Pa. I saw this new box by Emerson, couldn't believe it??? DVR/DVD/VCR and the best part, only $329!,,, I know that's not cheap, but a bargain for what it seems to have!,,, Model # EWH-100F, Sharp looking Spartan dark grey unit to boot. Forget about ILO,,,, I bet this unit makes decent, stable recordings, like the Sylvania DVD-90DF DVD/VCR I'm testing. Both made by (Funai).

By the way I'm new here at this forum, been enjoying reading about all DVD recorders, especially the Panny ES20K & the earleir model of the Sylvania unit I picked up to test, also my old Panny RV-26 DVD player is producing (mini square block pixilation) "macroblocks"??? when playing back a computer made copy of 'War of the Worlds" 20mins into the movie with all the action, & noise, and continuing to play unsteady all the way thru, BUT, the Sylvania has No problem with it! Thanks for lookin, Mike

Oops! Forgot to mention the Best part, the new emerson unit has an 80gig HD!

    $297 for the 531-H
any VCR for $30 or $40

  8. wrong move buddy....they are better dvd recorders out there. I would prefer a dvd recorder without a HD. Thats how bad Emerson really is. & VHS.........I almost forgot what VHS is.

No Reason to Flame me!!! I just put it out there for anyone who is interested, I guess you're not!,,, A nice way to greet a newbie here, although I am not new to various forums, just new here. I have no affiliation with Emerson. By the way, I am a Panasonic fan, most of my A/V stuff is Panny's, but my PV-26 hardly used DVD player is crapping out in microblocks when I play certain movies burned off my puter with 1 Click DVD Copy, even though the Sylvania unit I'm testing plays them rock solid, with a more pronounced surround effect too! Go figure, I hesitate on buying a Panny ES-20, and have 2 useless oversensitive players.

Sorry man but the "E" word (Emerson) sets people off. I haven't had a decent Emerson product since one of their B&W TVs in the 60s. Even some Emerson RCA stereo patch cords I bought a few years ago were bad on 1 channel right out of the package.

BTW I am a Panasonic fan, too. I hear about those macroblocks and I guess they are they but I don't see them on my 27 or 32" screens.

    Good luck!

    Symphonic, Emerson, Sansui, ad nauseam.
    I have owned 2 of the 3 I listed.
