    Does enabling the 2 pass option really make a difference in PQ? It takes a long time to do this

    Yes it does but everyone has a different idea as to what is acceptable viewing quality. Try it both ways to "calibrate" your own perspective. One factor is the screen that you are watching on. A big screen TV makes the difference much more apparent than a 5-inch portable DVD player. Two extremes, but it illustrates the point.
