  1. i read a few guide and it all says that u should set the output format base on ur source (720x576, 25fps)=pal (720x480, 29.97)=NTSC etc.
so i have 2 files and i put them in avicodec and it returns the following:

    1. 139 MB (136 MB), duration: 0:48:03
    Video : 121 MB, 353 Kbps, 23.0 fps, 512*384 (4:3), RV40 = RealVideo 9

    2. 2.7 GB, duration: 3:55:21
    Video : 400 MB, 237 Kps, 29.976 fps, 704*352 (2.0:1), YUY2= MS UYVY

now im confused, for each file should i convert to pal or NTSC, wut video type: progressive or interlace, video resolution and aspect ratio (720x576, 720x480 ... 4:3 or 16:9)
    plz help

Over to your left is a menu. One of the sections is headed HOW TO and contains guides on conversion amongst other things. The search function is pretty straight forward and has a simply conversion type filed to get you started.

You have a lot of reading to do.

i don't mean to be rude but it would be a waste to bother putting these on dvd. the first must be a streaming real video, jerky with terrible audio, like a bad webcam. and the second with only 400mb for 4 hours of video with 2300mb of audio??? the quality of the sources you have is a joke, watch them as they are and don't make them any worse by transcoding them.

crap in gets you crap out.

  4. yea, you'd have to use some serious deblocking filters on either of those two sources....and the second one REALLY has to look like garbage seeing that such a high resolution was used in combination with such low bitrates.....on a side note, for the real media one, if you do decide to convert it anyhow, look into something called real alternitive That will save you a lot of headaches.....but like what was mentioned, don't expect miracles given the source material probably isnt of very high quality....
