CDRW media I've used formats fine and is okay for a few days to a few weeks but eventually give errors, and properties show disc has no free sapce even though it has very little stored on it which requires reformatting to ifx. Then the disc is fine for a few days to a few weeks again, etc. I've used Ritek 4X CDRW and Samsung 10X CDRW, and Samsung seem a little better but still has same problem eventually. Are there any fixes for this problem, or are there some CDRWs more relaible? Do DVDRWs have same problem, or are DVDRWs the better way to go? This was posted in media section of forum which resulted in no helpful suggestions or answers, and I hope someone in this area of forum might be able to help.

It could also be your software choice...and or Packet Writing....which I hear really sucks.
Roxio was famous for the Packet Writing approach.

I'm using Nero 6 with latest update and have had no problems with CDR and DVDR media but only problems with CDRW media.

    Try one with Prassi Ones.
    It's a 30 day trial(fully functional)...less crap than Nero.

Finally found reasonable explanation for CDRW reliability problems at http://it.mnsfld.edu/policies/using_cd-r_media.cfm near bottom of that page. Now does anyone here know whether DVDRW is more reliable since I've thus far been unable to locate any source for DVDRW reliability?
