    HI there

could someone help to resolve this problem - I have an avi file that opens in Quicktime on my mac - I can hear the audio but it has a white screen. In the movie properties window the video track is listed as format 'IV50'. Can anyone help?

    Many thanks
    Thanks everyone

You're missing the proper codec. Could be DivX or XviD. Should be able to be played in VLC, though.

Too bad. Good to know what "IV50" is, though, in case I run across it. Thanks.

Indeo 3, 4 and 5 AVI files will play fine using the Classic version of QuickTime Player 6 in Classic while in OS X.

Your other choice for playing Indeo on a Mac is Virtual PC.
