I noticed this the other day but didn't think twice about it as I just thought it was a Firefox version 1.5 bug
anyway, if I write some text and then highlight it, when I click one of the BBCode buttons normally it will wrap tags around the text. It isn't and it's just putting the opening tag at the end of the post
I've just now downgraded to 1.0.7 but the issue is still there. I thought it was an issue with Firefox but other sites seem to work OK
everything has always worked well in Internet explorer
does anyone else experience this or is it just me and my Firefox?

One of the reasons I dumped FF. I had the same issue on a few boards, not just VH. There must be a fix though, as so many are using it.

I'm stuck with IE myself atm, but with the speed plugin FireFox is pretty fast and easy to use.

@Baldrick, can you check the smilies please?
@offline, I use both depending on the site I go to. I've only recently switched to using FF for this site as I've always used IE
I love the adblock feature of FF too and this speed plugin sounds useful -
I don't know if you are testing the smilies or fixing the smiley problem that was the same as the BBCode as the smiley just gets stuck on the end when you click it even though the cursor is inbetween text -

Strange, if you insert an e-icon in a sentence [here] it either jumps to the next sentence or to the end of the whole text. [here]
Trying the new version Firefox 1.501 - no same problem.
Trying other phb BB's. Same result. Looks like a FireFox bug -
yeah, same for me with other forums using FF
you can go back to sleep now Baldrick :P -
I use the BBCode extension. It's really good.

okey...not 3 hours...3 minutes...i searched for firefox bbcode emoticons...
.
bbcode extension? new useful features? -
Yes! I've resorted to hand typing bbCode since I switched to FF. OTOH, the bbCode plugin is cool too - I mostly use the "Quick Reply" box anyway.

What is a good spell checker and download manager for FireFox 1.5+?
-
I use Free Download Manager (FDM - site seems down at the mo) and the FlashGot plugin.
