Flash No Sound

I know this isn't generally the sort of question thats posted here.

I have an imac G5, and for some reason the macromedia flash player has no sound. this doesnt just apply to web pages; i have a game called n which is flash and theres no sound on that either.

this is weird because there was sound before. ive downloaded the newest version of flash player but with no luck.

it may be something simple but i cant find anything in the players settings related to sound, or anything on their knowledgebase relating to this problem.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

just in case anybody else has this problem; the answer is to launch the garage band application once. problem solved.
