I had no problem encoding a 1h AVI movies... but anything longer than that...a 1H 10 min AVI movie for exp...the Tmpgenc encoding process will just "hang" after reaching the 1H mark.

had reinstalled Tmpgenc but to no avail.

    any ideas why?

    THks. 8)

Maybe a heat problem with your PC ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

Is it just tmgenc that hangs, or does the whole PC lock up, requiring a hard reboot ?

only Tmpgenc "hang"... windows xp is still functioning.
I use my PC previously for more than 12Hrs at 1 go without any sign of problems.

Check your even logs to see if there are any errors being reported. 70 minutes seems pretty arbitrary as a breaking point.

how to check - "even logs"?

anyway...when Tmpgenc hang...it did not give any error reports.

last time...I can batch encode a 2Hrs long avi movie or 2 1Hrs movie with no problems but lately got this problem.
