  1. I was just wondering if anyone knows if there is a vdub mod or something that has all of the featuresw, and works as good as virtualdub, but can encode to mpeg.

I know that vdub can open mpeg2, with the virtualdub-mpeg2 program, but it still has to encode to avi.

I know TMPGEnc is a good program...thats what I usually use when working with mpegs, but in my opinion it doesn't have the ease of use, and deffinately doesn't work as smoothly as vdub.

    thanks

    Chill

P.S. If Avery Lee is out there reading...adding encoding to mpeg, and mpeg2 would make vdub the ultimate tool (in my opinion anyway)

You can use the YMPEG codec with VirtualDub to output a type of MPEG file.

As for a replacement for VD, not really. VD does a lot as a freeware AVI editor.

I use VDMod and frameserve to TMPGEnc encoder directly. This eliminates the in-between file after you have edited in VD. Saves disk space and time also.

YMPEG or frameserve. That's about your only two options AFAIK.

Frameserving really isn't that bad (or hard).
    If in doubt, Google it.
