I'm trying to use the dvd4 tool in ffmpegx (v0.0.9u r2 Dec 4, 2005). The dvd.vob file is 6.43 GB. Files dvd.ac3 (440 MB) and dvd.m2v (3.06 GB) are created. The process then fails in mplex with:

**ERROR: [mplex] Need to split output but there appears to be no %d in the filename pattern [...]/dvd.mpg

I see this problem has been posted before, but not recently. Based on the replies to those postings I tried using the mux tool to complete the process. That also fails in mplex in the same way unless I select the Split mpg option. In this case it produces dvd-1.mpg ... dvd-24.mpg and then says it's finished. No VIDEO_TS folder is created. The last output in the console window is from mplex, so it seems not to be attempting to author it at all.

I'm new to this - just registered ffmpegx specifically so I could use the dvd4 tool - any help would be most welcome!

Ok, well it seems it was something funny about the .vob file. I'd used yade to select a track from a dvd and the track included a bunch of little dummy chapters. When I was more selective the problem went away.

I'm experiencing the exact same problem. After ~30 mins, I only get MOVIE.ac3 but no VIDEO_TS folder. Using ffmpegX 0.09u r2. Original VOB is 5.57 GB in size.

Where do you see the mplex error?

In the progress window, click the info tag next to the progress bar; a window opens showing you the console output for the process.[/quote]

Ok. Unfortunately, every time I click on that "i" button, Progress consumes 100% CPU for several minutes, then crashes.

I exeperience exactly the same problem.
And I don't find any solutions.

I got the .vob file from 0seX (0.1).

What do you mean with "more selective" ?

Where is the "split" option ?
    (ffmpeX 0.0.9v)

    Thank you for paying attention.
