    Hi,
I have an ogm file which I've demuxed to avi, wav (and then into ac3), and srt files. I'm taking four avi's that I'm making a "movie" out of -- cutting sections, etc. linking them together-- on a DVD. I've been avoiding appending the avi's onto each other in VDubMod because I know that that will happen automatically when I author the DVD (and to avoid possible synching problems).

When all I've done is edit out section of files, that process has worked in the past. However, now I've gotten into editing some of the sound, and am having issues figuring out what to do.

Precisely-- I want to take the last, say 2-3 seconds of the first avi's sound and essentially have it spill over onto the first few seconds of the second avi (which starts off silent), thus making the transition seem more fluid. I don't want to simply fade the sound out on the first avi, because I don't actually want those last few seconds of video-- I just want the sound that is fading out. Thus, if I cut the video in the first avi where I want it to end the sound is very abruptly cut off. If I cut the avi where I want the sound to end, I have extra video there that I don't want. How do I get the sound to seemlessly fade from the end of one avi across and onto the beginning of the other?

Do I need to attach the two avi's? and then....?? append the wav's to each other? ......??

Also, what program should I be using? I know Nero has a program for editing wav files, which has worked fine for me, but I don't know if it'll do what I need it to do here. I also find it really difficult to work with the audio and the video completely seperately, since I can't tell how they are synching up until after I've made all the cuts and saved everything and encoded it all together..... Is there a good way to preview the new proposed video with sound and srt files? Maybe this would be do-able if I had the right program.....?? Perhaps there is a good guide out there I could be reffered to??

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

What you're talking about is an L cut, & really just std video editing in something like wax, vegas, prem etc... How to do it varies with the prog.
