I have a AVI XVId video file that I am trying to convert to DVD. When I watch the avi on my PC it is perfect. When I convert it to DVD video files, the audio is a couple of seconds ahead of the video. I tried converting it with 2 different programs but got the same result.

I am a newbie at this and would appreciate any and all help.

  5. We need the information about the audio - bitrate and encoding mode CBR or VBR. Are you working on Linux?

    Type: OpenDML AVI IMRR: 1.00

    I/L: 1vid frame [42 ms] NG=1032 Split: Yes

  16. NG=1032 - that means you have 1032 miliseconds negative delay. That is why you have desynch sound in all-in-one-crap-sounding ( ) programs. You need either to encode the audio separately setting this delay in the audio encoder or demultiplex (ReJig) the mpeg or vobs you have already and author them with an authoring programm (ReJig) setting the delay there.

OK I used rejig to split the audio & video from the mpg file. I now have an mpa & m2v file. what do I use to reauthor that will push the audio back to match the video? I looked at TMPGenc but couln't find where to fix the audio.

Another thing, someone mentioned a 2.52 version of gspot. I downloaded it and was foolong around in and found the viewer. I was clicking the buttons on the bottom in the proposed section. Under A/V I selected 1 which rendered it and then 2 which set it up for viewing. The audio and video were in sync. they were not in the avi and mpg files

they were not in the avi
I don'n understand. If you renderd the avi in GSpot it would be in synch.

what do I use to reauthor that will push the audio back to match the video?
ReJig.Of course in Author mode I think it was clear from my post
and author them with an authoring programm (ReJig) setting the delay there.

Sorry i am confusing you. the orignal was an avi that had no sync problems. the mpg was made by avi2dvd before creating the video files. I read another post on finding how much you are off using windows media classic. I found that if i changed the mpg by 1970ms it is excellent. so in rejig author do i put in the 1970 or 1970 plus the 1032.

  21. 1970.
A-aha, not any2dvd, but avi2dvd, well, this is quite different. Did you change in Media player classic (there is not such a thing like windows media classic ) 1970 or -1970?
the mpg was made by avi2dvd before creating the video files.
You confuse me again . mpg is a video file

Ok the avi 2 dvd is put out by anytodvd www.anytodvd.com.

    yes media player classic.

mpg - when i was converting the avi file to dvd with 1 of the 3 programs it made a file called "videotodvd0.mpg" then made the vob, ifo & bup files.

OK tried rejig. Set it to the 1970ms delay and it didn't work. I set it to -1970ms and it is almost perfect. I may fool around with it a little more now that you people have enlightened me.

This is for my 3 year old nephew. It is a 1:22 hour kids movie, Bambi 2. I would have normally just burned it to a vcd but their DVD player is old and won't read them.

    Thanks for all your help.
