  1. Hi!

    I have this weired problem.

My DVD Burner which is an "Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-K14L" in my Notebook doesn't recognize burned DVD+R's.

But it recognizes them when they are Blank as a Blank media and supports the Format that I'm burning. I have used different burning progs to burn a DVD *.img. But after i successfully burn the DVDR's, the DVD Drive tells me that no media was found.

At the same time the DVD drive has no problem recognizing burned CDR's, burned DVD-RW's etc. (all from the same Brand BTW Platinum, which is according to Nero Discinfo produced by Ricoh). Only burned DVDR's seem to be an Problem.

    What is causing this mess?
I already wasted four blank DVD+R's.

Burning and recognizing DVD-R works fine.

Strange thing is, that PowerDVD plays the DVD, if the DVD was inside the Drive before Boot. (Explorer still doesn't see content on the DVD).

If i eject and reinsert the DVD, then not even PoowerDVD recognizes the DVD anymore, unless i reboot with the DVD inside. But other DVD's are recognized instantly without reboot.

I also found out, that DVD+R's burned in other Burners are recognized without any trouble.

    Please help.

BTW: I also tryed Intenso DVD+R's which I successfully have burned and used with this Burner before all this mess started. But I still get this error. So it can't be media related.

Anyone knows what the problem is?

Change the firmware, Ive had this happen before too. Update the firmware AND change the media brnad if need be. I know it seems silly, but a drive can see the media before it been burned but not after, usually with cheaper stuff, but not always.
    Good luck!
COPIED OVER 600 DVDS SO FAR
