I have several m2v files that were created for DVD. The audio for each is a seperate wav file.
I'd like to convert each short subject into an mp4 with audio.
I can bring in the audio and video into Premiere Pro 1.5, but can't seem to export mp4.
I would be able to create mp4 with Quicktime 7 Pro, but can't import m2v into Quicktime.
So in each case I seem to be screwed. Is there anything I can do to modify Premiere or Quicktime before I investigate other programs?

mp4 is just a container. what kind of video and audio are you going to use?
you can use, virtualdubmpeg2 -> avi -> quicktime pro
or use mediacoder, super 1 and convert to the mp4 container.
or convert to divx, xvid, etc and make a mp4 with yamb. -
I'm submitting shorts to Google Video, which requires mp4 video files.
I'd like to use a method that requires rendering only once per file. Going to AVI and then using Quicktime Pro to make mp4 is one step too many.
I've never used mediacoder or super 1. Do you recommend one over the other? -
use mediacoder if you have several files. you must configure all settings so it can be bit tricky.
but where does it say mp4? https://upload.video.google.com/video_faq.html
it just says mpeg4 or mpeg2...it could be an avi with divx and mp3. -
You're right, they don't specifically say mp4. But they don't say AVI either.
What file formats do you accept?
Google accepts video in a wide range of popular formats. The fastest way to get your videos into Google Video is to submit each file in MPEG4 format with MP3 audio or MPEG2 with MP3.
While we also support other digital formats such as QuickTime, Windows Media, and RealVideo, it's important to note that submitting your files in these formats may significantly delay us from using them on Google Video. In some cases, we may not be able to add your video at all. -

So I can't combine the audio with the video to make and mp4 in one step? Even with mediacoder?

I tried using Mediacoder, but I'm in over my head. Without any help files or step by step instructions, I don't know what I'm doing.
I just found out there's a plug-in for mpeg-2 files in Quicktime:
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/mpeg2/
It costs 20 bucks, but it might be what I'm looking for. I presume it will allow me to import m2v files into Quicktime.
Anyone have an opinion about this? -
In oder not to highjack this topic I'm going to ask some questions, but I'll post another topic.
