I thought you said 4.11 GB.

If this is something special, you might want to start over. Or use a dual layer DVDR.

If not, I would add the menu and prepare the Video_TS folder. Then use DVD Shrink or Nero Recode to shrink to fit. Then burn.

Well, I think it's worth the re-encode for this particular project. So, say if I reencode it, what bitrate should I try? I used 5,500,000 kbps before, and I want to add in a menu (which actually might be a bit large). What do you suggest?

The menu uses a video in the background, and is about 62.7 megs big. Just do you know...if that is too big and will kill the bit rate of the actual video even more, then I'll see if I can cut it down...

I'd go ahead and finish the Video_TS folder. Then you'll know exactly how large it is and can reduce the encode that by much plus some safety margin.

I'd also burn the DVD and test everything before investing that much time again.

i agree with ed. go ahead and build the project considering that you can do that much faster than reencoding to find out your previous project may have been alright.

Excuse my newbie-ism. I know what the Video_TS and Audio_TS folders are, but I don't know how to "finish" them, using DVD Architect. I made the menu in architect, and go to burn and it just says it's too big. So how do I go about doing this?

Okay, I did a bit of searching and made the folders. Could I get an idiot-proof step by step of what to do? Sorry guys.

Hmm, mine will warn you if it is oversized but lets you "finish" to an oversized Video_TS. Then DVD Shrink or Nero Recode can be used to resize back to 4.35 GB.

Maybe there is a settings check that causes this.

Well I can't 'finish' the TS folder in DVD Architect. I just downloaded DVD Shrink, and I see what you mean...I have to finish the folder before I can use it.

You could just author and use DVD Shrink to fit it, or import with DVD Author PRO and reencode to fit as you author to DVD/VOBs.

But can I use DVD Shrink to shrink just the file? When I open the program, it looks like I have to insert a DVD disc. DVD Architect won't let me create the files needed for the TS folders, so I can't seem to shrink the MPEG down.
