Should I just use the standard resolution and stretch it on my PSP, or will another resolution look better?

I ripped my cousin marriage DVD (w/ HandBrake) which came out 704x304 (not sure it answers your question, i don't understand the ratios 16:9 2:33 whatever)

I did note in the PSP How To all the different sizes the PSP would play, so I went for 400x192 (416x176 was a tad, 3 pixels, too short), which would have stretched it taller. So in VIDEO i entered the exact ratio - 400x172 and then in FILTER i added the extra 10 pixels top/bottom.

    Worked fine!

15 min chunks of the DVD came out to about 50 MBs each (bitrate 400, audio upped to 64)

If you are looking for the 16x9 settings, use 368x208. This setting is not the FULL resolution of the PSP - but it's the highest the PSP can handle. The PSP will stretch your image to full screen and you will notice minimal distortion. Go with the highest bitrate you can if you want better quality. If you want more than 1 movie on a 1GB card, stick with 400kbps or lower for a 2 hr flick. On a 512MB stick, go with the highest bitrate that will still fit your movie on the memory stick.

I've been experimenting and I found out that 368z208 is indeed the best choice. The difference between 300 and 400 is pretty noticeable as well, but that is something that will change when the new ffmpegX will be released anyways :P
