    Hello all !
Iīm new here and I really like this site !
    Hereīs my problem !
I have some DIVX files here, and donīt ask me how, but the sound is distorted !
The impression that I have here is that the sound was recorded too loud !
Iīve already tried noise reduction, but I donīt have any idea how to set up a good noise reduction, so the audio is "robotic" when I process it!
The interesting thing is: When I play the file on my Philips DVD player, the DVD, and again, donīt ask me how, seens to separate this frequencies from the audio, so I listen the audio with a good quality and the noise separately. Let me try to explain this again:
When the sound is distorted, the distortion is part of the sound, on the dvd, is a separate noise.
    My question is:
Does anyone knows how can I clean up the distortion ? I know that the distorted frequencies are gone forever, I just want to eliminate it from the file. Does anyone knows wich filter can I use and how the hell I set up the noise filter ?
Thank you all very much !

What you might try is to take the sound out of the file and run it through a audio editor like the freeware Audacity. You can apply some filters, maybe normalize it or apply a low pass or high pass filter. Play around with it a little and see if that helps. Save it out as a MP3 when you are satisfied. You will need to have Lame MP3 installed. (From 'Tools' <<<)

I use VirtualDub Mod most of the time. You can demux the audio out or just save it out as a WAV file and Audacity can accept either. For extracting as a WAV with VDMod:

Then you can put it back in by selecting it in VDM and replacing the original audio.
