I have a Hi8 setup (analog) including Camcorder, Edit Deck, and things like video enhancers and titlers. All a bit old hat now. I also have a piece of software called "Video Director" from Gold Disk inc. that allowed me to edit tapes via the Sony LANC (control L) sockets and a "Smart cable". Unfortunately this software won't run on my Win98 PC's, so I have to drag out an old 486 pc (Win3.11) to do video editing.
I know that one solution is to upgrade, but I have about 40 hours of Hi8 tape that has been indexed etc, and I don't really want to write this collection (or the hardware!) off.
I've found a few leads via the 'net, but most peter out. Does anyone know if there was a win95 version on Video Director? I've found a German site that does mention this, but it's electronics based, not software.
Any help appreciated!
Steve
