I recently burnt 6 mpg's of equal size to a DVD ( -R ) disc as data. I have played them on my DVD player & have no problems. However, I have passed on the same DVD disc to a friend & he says his DVD player will not play the disc. The player says " NO VIDEO FOUND " ? I find this strange as it works perfectly here at home.
On my player the 6 mpg's come up on the menu & then you can select which one you would like to play.
So, how do you think I should tackle the burning of multiple MPG's to a minus R DVD disc. My friend has in fact an LG hard drive DVD player.
Or do I just keep producing VCD's on CDR's & just burn 1 MPG per cd ...which is what I have been doing ......long process ?????
Please Help !
Can someone please HELP !!!!
Thanks,
MLOR.![]()

I suspect their player may not support mpeg playback ... bad unit .
Are you creating mpegs for vcd or mpegs for dvd ?
If in suitable format as required for dvd , then burn as for dvd .
Mpeg's suitable for vcd's ... there are a couple of guide's here that can show you have to create a dvd using mpeg video .
The problem here is the confusion as most guide's dont go deep enough , or mention what to do if problem's strike ...
There will be a guide soon released in the guide's section .
It is my way of fitting 4 full movie's onto one dvd in mpeg2 , but they are in mpeg1 size format .
All you need to know on what video is acceptable , audio you must use , and you can have subtitle's with these .
The guide start's in the basic's using only freeware ... and add's some motion menu's later on just to make it more appealing .
I'll post it in a couple of day's ... it is also long , but each part has it's own heading so you can pick and choose what you need from it .

"The player says " NO VIDEO FOUND"
If it helps, adding onto what Bjs kindly posted...
A stand-alone box often looks to the type of disc 1st, then looks for content. When you insert a DVD, some will not look for anything other then std DVD content, so in that regard, you might get greater compatibility using CDs. & Even then, there's a lot of boxes that won't read plain mpg content on a CD either.
"Or do I just keep producing VCD's on CDR's & just burn 1 MPG per cd ...which is what I have been doing"
In my opinion it's the sort of question where you'll be the best judge, considering the source of your video, if you do anything else with it, what methods your comfortable with, what software you have/use.If your source is DVD spec, then just use a [simple] authoring prog. as Bjs suggested. If your vid is SVCD, & your friend's player will handle it authored as a DVD, then maybe that's the way to go? If you want more info on DVD spec video, http://www.thedigitalbits.com/officialfaq.html , but, some authoring software will only accept a couple of frame sizes.
