I hooked up my parents new Sony Wega 42 rear projection LCD.. They have a Zenith DVD player (model DVB410) that worked fine with their older Sony 32" Trinitron connected via S-video...

I connected the Zenith DVD player to the new Sony Wega via the 3 color component cables and during high action there is a loss of signal (ie: the picture goes blank) but audio continues... I tried various settings in the DVD player (progressive scan on, off aspect settings, etc) but nothing worked... With progressive scan on the picture would distort and not flicker, then the tv would display a signal 'progressive input' for a second or two..

Watching a cable signal from a cable box via S-video the tv is awesome...

So I brought over my old Pioneer DVD (model dv333) and connected it via the 3 colour component cables and it did played fine as I thought perhaps the component cables were faulty... The cables are by Philips...

Anyone else have a similar problem like this...??? Or any thoughts...

Cheers

Kenmo

NOTE: I edited this post as previously I posted I was using composite which is incorrect, I am using the three colour component cables... I haven't used composite since vcr days... Sorry about the confusion...
