  1. I installed PowerDVD 6.0, but realized that subtitles are displayed over the image when in fullscreen, not in the lower black bar like regular dvd players do. So, do you guys know of any dvd player software that allows you to set subtitles in the lower black bar, or somewhere in between.
    I need this because my regular dvd player does not convert from pal to ntsc, so the only way I'm able to see these dvds is connecting my pc to my television set, using the dvd-rom. But subtitles are displayed over the image using powerdvd

    Uh... Subtitles are a DVD are BITMAPS (subpictures if you want the technical term). They cannot be repositioned dynamicaly. it's not like text that can be adjusted in font and size and all that.

    So what you're asking is not possible, not without modifying the source.

  3. so.... how come regular standalone dvd player display subtitles either in the lower black bar or somewhere between the image and the lower black bar, but if you put the same dvd in your computer, softwares like powerdvd display the subtitles over the image

    Are you SURE they are in different positions for the same movie depending on the player? Give an example, please.
