  1. I'm thinking of buying some brick DVD cases (meaning the ones that hold 3-7 discs inside one brick-shaped case) The only problem I'm forseeing if finding the right kind of paper to print large enough inserts for them. I've been using multiflip inserts from Rima. Anyone have any suggestions on some type of paper that comes big enough. I'd rather not use just standard legal sized paper. I like a little heavier paper. I have an Epson R300 I'll be printing on so HP photo papers are out since the epson inks don't like it's cellulose layer.

Save yourself some hassle and ink and take them to a copy shop. Design the covers on a standard size page like legal or tabloid (legal if it fits since most copy shops charge the same price for letter/legal) then save them out in PDF format. Put it on a USB drive or CD and bring it in and get them printed on text-weight gloss. I've found this to be an excellent solution for covers and inserts of all sorts. And even though it'll cost you about a dollar a page for the prints you are probably coming out even if you calculate the cost in ink for a full page of color printing and the cost of the specialty media. And the laser print is going to be infinitely more durable and look a lot better.

I have an R320 too but it just gets used for printing on discs, something a laser printer can't do.

  3. Sad thing is I have no decent copy shop around here. Just Staples and their copy center is horrible. I can probably work the equipment there better than the employees. I'll look into it though.

can you link to an example of these cases?
I'm intrigued, and looking for a way to clear up some shelf space.

    TIA!

  5. Just go to USPlastics.com and click the link on the left for CD/DVD storage. They have several to choose from as well as thinpack cases, which are half as thick as normal DVD cases.

Yeah, all the office supply stores with copy shops in them are all the same. I was having mine done at Kinko's before I got my laser printer. There's a Staples near you but no Kinko's? Wierd. Anyway there are usually some pretty good independent copy shops in most towns so that's a good place to look too.

  7. I'll have to dig around town and see what I come up with. This place is fairly backwater. Nothing worth your time shows up in a place like this. Closest kinkos is 45min drive from me.
