I am using the videora Ipod convert and it is super sweet and easy. Love the crop feature which allows me to eliminate the black bars which is crucial considering how small the Ipod screen is already. Anyways the program is self explanatory except for the different mode's it offers. It has 4 different MPEG4 modes and two different H264 modes.

Any suggestions on which is the best mode when creating smaller files. I am mainly converting music videos. (using 384 video bitrate unless original bitrate is lower)

Also does the one or two passes option mean anything?
