    Hello!
I would like to take parts from various DVDs I have and burn them onto a DVD as 1 title. Is that possible?

Mac The Ripper rips the files I want nicely creating VOB files and Toast 7 burns them -- but as separate titles. Is there a way to take all the VOB files I ripped and make them 1 big title with chapter markers separating the different segments?
I tried doing it in iMovie but it took longer than real time to import the clips so I'm looking for a faster solution.
    Thanks!

    DVD2ONEX.
Can join your ripped files from MTR,
compress down to one disc, which you can burn in Toast.

The problem could be where you say you want chapter markers to separate the segments. MPEG2 Works has a joining feature but I don't know if a chapter marker will appear there when burned by Toast.

Having separate Titles and checking the Play All Items Continuously box in Toast will get you continuous play from one title to the next as well as the ability to select the start of each title. I think you should do that rather than join the segments.

  4. You can do that with MPEG2 Works 4 /shareware/...Rip the every part you want as separate VOB...Then batch demultiplex all the VOBs under Tools section...Then multiplex it back under Advanced Authoring section /command+d/ using the top table /VOBs has to be re-multiplexed prior to authoring if you rippin chapters or separate titles..If you rippin whole Main Title then that VOB does not need to be re-multiplexed/...Or you can rip parts in separate streams /video and audio track/ and then multiplex those streams like I explained above to avoid demultiplexion step...

After remultiplexion you'll end up with new .mpg files...Drop one by one at the bottom table under Advanced Authoring section...Your files will be authored as chapters in one continius title...If you want you can set chapter markers every 5, 10 or 15 minutes and also you can make burnable DVD image /.img/ file and burn it onto DVD under same section...I suggest you to mount created .img /if you choose to make it/ and check it with Apple DVD Player app before actual burnin...

Also note that all parts you want to author as one DVD should be in same aspect ratio /4:3 or 16:9/....And it is good that all of them has same audio track format /not necessary but advisable/...

Thanks terry that is the perfect solution. I happen to have version 1.4.1 of DVD2oneX that I haven't used until tonight. It's not so simple though -- I'm having problems .

The problem I'm having now is DVD2oneX doesn't recognize those VOB files I created using MacTheRipper.
MTR made Video_TS folders with just the VOB files inside -- no IFO or BUP files (I have no idea what those files do but they seem essential to the plot).

If I choose a complete video_ts folder with all the parts DVD2oneX sees it but not those VOB file only video_ts folders that MTR created. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks!

-ALSO- Thanks Serbian for the MPEG2 Works 4 info. I'll check that out soon after I get the easy way down and start getting interested in more options.

    go back to MTR,
re-rip the DVDs as complete discs,
then use DVD2ONEX to select the
Main Tracks ( longest VOBs) of each
disc, and then join them one at a time,
using the "join" feature in DVD2ONEX.

the Popup window will slide out on the left,
and as you add each track, just make sure to
select the audio for each one on the right,
    before adding the next track.

it is slightly tricky, but once you get the hang of it,
    its REALLY easy.

Thanks Terry! Yes it's a little tricky.
I finally figured out after awhile that leaving "Seamless Join" unchecked means no join, seamless or not! A new title will be created whether the 2 selections were originally part of the same title or not.
Checking Seamless Join will keep that selection in the same title as the previous selection (whether they were originally part of the same title or not).

I hope that's correct because I like it. That way I can have as many or few titles as I want and also mix 'n match the chapters with the titles if I want to. My plan is to usually have 1 big title.

Yeah but then I'd have to rip entire DVDs when I just need specific parts.
How about if I use that same DTOX Join feature to extract the individual part(s) from DVDs?
It would create create complete video_ts folders with only the parts of the movies I want in them. I could then bring those folders back into DTOX individually and join them together into 1 title (using Seamless Join of course ).
