I have been trying to convert Star Wars - Episode 1 to VCD, but everytime I get a real annoying and persistant popping sound where there is a lot of "sound action" like during the podracing scenes and such. I am using FlaskMPEG .6 preview and BBMpeg v1.24 beta 18, Can someone help me please!

hrm..could be the actual source DVD that's giving u problems. there should be another audio track u can select. i usually try to select the highest bitrate audio track (i.e. 44
if i can.

this is a bit of a lame reply but try dvdx??? this may work but it has to be the pal version of the film as dvdx has its own little issues with NTSC stuff at 29fps. On the otherhand U can download the panasonic plugins for flask & give them a go.. The best bet is to try dvdx or TMPG though.
All the best for the newyear & good luck with the ripping Kev!

I had the same problem. but my process is thru capture card...
try using a lower bitrate in audio. mine worked at 33,000 stereo 16bit.
