I'm using DVD SP4 and I'm trying to have a music track continue across multiple menus... e.g. the same music track continues to play, without interruption, when the viewer selects a submenu. How is this done?

You're not the first to ask this question, but I don't think anyone's found a way, (or if they have they didn't come back and clue us in). I don't know of any way to do it, but if you figure it out please let us know how.

Since there is a pause (player dependent) when switching from one menu to another anyway, even of you could find the spot in the new menu where you left the first, there will be a quite noticable pause. Same goes for a looping menu - a pause when it starts over seems inevitable.

I don't know how you'd do it, but I think I read somewhere of just such a DVD...?

Would it be possible to have the menus as some sort of still compilation with BOV?

The still compiliation w/ BOV is a good idea but the only method I could think of w/ DSP4 would be to do an end-jump to loop the 'current' menu until the user made a selection... but that would still create a disruption in going from chapter marker to chapter marker. Hmm... I thought my menus on Timecode (the Figgis film) had this kind of continuity but perhaps I'm remembering wrongly--I'll check at home tonight.

    Thnx for the replies everyone.

The spec simply does not allow for this to be done. LIve with it until the next generation comes out.
