I am trying to use the aforementioned program to convert my captured .tp files into a format I can then convert to WMVHD. I go through software and get rid of the commercials. When I then try to process the video the output of the program (the mpg files) have no video or audio but are still very large files. How can I fix this?

I suspect whatever software you're using to edit the MPEG2 files can't handle the large frame size. You can try using an AVISynth script to open the MPEG2 (or tp) files and resize them. Or VirtualDubMPEG2 or VirtualDubMod if you want a more interactive environment.

I expect it is a issue with your conversion process. If the converted file won't even play on your pc, then it sounds like the files are corrupt/invalid.

If you have a HD MPeg2_TS and it is playable, what is your reason for wanting conversion to WMV-HD?
Getting that extra compression will take extremely long processing times. I'm just trying to understand your goals.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

That's strange. Works perfectly for most
What version of Windows are you running ?
That's the only error message ?"Exception occured during initialization" ? Any more specific error info ?
Only other thing I can think of is perhaps you have JAVA installed already? Maybe the two versions are conflicting. Go directly into the c:\Program Files\ProjectxV0903 (or whatever it is called) and run ProjectX.exe directly from there.
Last things to try: 1) Delete the projectX.ini file from the directory and retry 2) Uninstall, delete any files that remain in that folder, then reinstall.
Good luck. -
Ok now I can get HDTV2MPEG to work right but the output file can't be skipped through. I can only play it linerally. Also Windows media encoder can't open it, and tmepg xpress says there is no audio even though it plays finr in windows media player.
