    what is better?
    i know that vbr take a lot of time but does this much better then cbr?

    It depends on the runtime, the bitrate, the content and the quality of the source.

    If you have less than an hour, you may as well CBR at a high bitrate.

    For my money, if the bitrate is getting down below 7500, then 2 pass VBR is the better way to go. That said, I use CCE, which is fast enough to do 3 pass VBR is half the time tmpgenc does a CBR encode.
