    is there a way in windows xp to check the capacity of a blank dvd in the drive? THANKS!

    You can use Imgburn and it will show the media size.

    DVDInfo Pro also might assist. Also I think there's one called MediaInfo in the tools section.

    It's either gonna be a 4.7GB SL or a 7.95DL though. How hard could it be ?
