I have an mpeg (from TiVo) that is 480x480

What options should I choose here?

What do I put on this template. I am going to be putting the mpeg onto a dvd.

Also, if I plan on putting 2or3 of these mpegs on a dvd, should I convert them all as one, or individually?

Here is the info that dvd patcher gives me about the mpeg itself (just ignore the red numbers)

    1) None, it's entirely OPTIONAL

    2) 480x480 is NOT a valid DVD video size. If you used the wizard, you should have picked one of the DVD templates, thus you wouldn't be asking this question.

I know 480x480 isn't dvd spec that is what my source is. (Tivo file). I'm trying to get this mpeg dvd compliant so I can watch it on my dvdplayer

So resize it... Pick one of the DVD templates and TMPGEnc will resize it for you.

When I resize it, it'll make the one mpeg use all of the dvd space it can right? What if I want to put 3 of these files onto 1 dvd? How would I do that?

You use a bitrate calculator. Use the total running time of all the files and it will show you the bitrate to use to fill all of the disc. There are several in 'Tools'.

You can either adjust the bitrate or make the file size smaller here:

But I would use a DVD template instead.

Use dvdpatcher and set it for 352x480 and patch the file, load the patched file in your dvd auther program then patch the vob file(s) back to 480x480

Convert the audio to 48000hz mp2/ac3/pcm if needed.

There is no reason to re-encode the video unless your dvd player is very fussy.

I'll second the DVDPatcher method. It's faster and better quality than re-encoding. It won't work on all DVD players but it's worth a try.

Patch the headers to 352x480, author your DVD then patch the VOB's back to 480x480. Patch the entire file (not just the first header) and patch only the movie VOB and not the menus.

    Works for me.
