  1. Wondering is anyone might know the cause of this? I am running XP Pro and have WMP10. When I go to sights such as CNN.com or MTV.com the embedded streaming video will not play the buffered video. Am I missing an ActiveX control or some other plugin?

Thanks in advance for the help. And if there is some piece of information that I am not communicating, just let me know and I'll clarify. Thanks.

  5. Jeez, I see all kinds of information on the web about not being able to play embedded video on CNN.com or MSNBC.com, but no one seems to know what causes it.

Another interesting thing that I've discovered is that when I go to Big-Boys.com I can play their embedded videos with no problems. But whenever I go to one of the news sites to watch video (like CNN and MSNBC) they just won't play. CNN will do nothing and MSNBC will actually show an error in the video screen that says, "This video is currently not available."

Somebody has to know what he hell is going on here.

    Not necessarily.
For example, eBay's doesn't even know their front page is floating left at higher resolutions above 800x600 for years and years. Other major companies have this same problem.
Anyway, if you've gotten media player 10, it's already updated with the latest codecs, directX and whatnot.
Any complaints to these companies will surely be discarded because it would show that the "programmer" isn't or can't do their job.
Maybe try another computer at work or the library and see how these behave.
