So I'm trying to author a DVD with my home video. But the problem is when I "import the movie as timeline" it tells me the movie must be in 720*576 or 704*576. I guess there's a way to change this setting in Encore or there's a way to change the resolution of the movie, but I don't know how. Does anyone know?

http://www.thedigitalbits.com/officialfaq.html gives frame sizes for DVD (+ other useful info) or read Encore's help files and docs. Capture/create/encode video accordingly.

what is your source video resolution?

i think encore only supports those resolutions and not any other dvd resolutions/video sizes, i'm not sure about the new 2.0 version though.

Encore (at least pre-version 2.0, and probably post as well) does not support the full range of compliant resolutions. You will have to re-encode after resizing, or use a different (better ?) authoring application.
