can anyone suggest any good PC remotes for viewing media files off my PC?

doesnt need to be too fancy, although ability to work with any application would be nice

ATI Remote Wonder is one of the options.
    I'm very happy with it.
Could be bought on eBay or in ATI online store.

Yes, it could be used instead of a mouse.
It has several buttons which are programmable to be used like hotkeys or combination of hotkeys.
I use it to control media players with it, volume, size of a window. close-open application or file, shut down PC...
I'm sure it has other options which I do not use.
It works on radio signal, not IR like normal remotes, so that there is no need to point it to the USB antena dongle.
All in all: neat and functional.
