I bought a brand of dual layer disc called Dysan. They have a ritekd01 media code. I've did a few dvd to dual layer copies, but 2 discs have given me problems during the verifiying stage. The one I did yesterday failed at 56% and the one I did saturday failed at 50 %,but they still play towards the end of the disc. I haven't watched both dvd's all the way thru, but if a dual layer disc fails during verification, does that mean the layer break is messed up and won't work properly? OR is there a chance that there is nothing wrong with these discs and they will play fine? I usually use dvddecrypter and make an iso then burn the iso from dvddecrypter back to the dual layer disc. Thanks

At a guess, the discs are crap. The only brand that seems to burn well consistently is verbatim japanese DLs. Anything else is patchy at best.

Verbatim MKM discs are made in Singapore, not Japan. But other yes, RITEK DL media is crap. RICOH is so-so. Only get MKM.
