    Hello,
Not sure if this is the right place so forgive me if it not...

I am looking for a editing program that will allow me to to insert a animated gif or mng into a slide show or movie clip and also allow me to over lay a animated gif onto a movie clip..... hopefully inexpensive.... smile.!

so far.. i have looked at pennicle 9, and proshow gold and of course movie maker but none seems to do it...

so far about the ony way i can do this is to first convert the gif/mng to a avi then insert into my project .... and if i want to overlay then then even more owrk in creating a animated gif with the background i need and then convert.. ....

    thank you for any suggestions........

ulead video studio 9 lets you insert a flash animation on your source video file but its not free, have a go with the fully functional trial version.
I love it when a plan comes together!

    hi,
thank you... i noticed that once before about the flash.... and i did notice it mentioned gif but not animated gif..... i'll take another closer look at it....! but sure would like to use either animated gif or mng.. smile..... I can do a lot of things with those in my animated ecard program and been experimenting with ecard projects using that in slide shows routines.....! but much rather use directl... again thankyou for the suggestion...

Yes you can use animated gifs in ProShow Gold via a workaround.
You will need to split the gif into its component parts first though.

Ulead MSP7 lets you do this easily...MSP8 wasn't recommended with the single review here.
