I am try to join two MPEG2 files (PCM sound) using TMPGEnc and followed this guide: https://www.videohelp.com/tmpgencedit.htm.
After TMPGEnc finishes, the joined file has NO sound.
Am I doing something wrong or is there a better/easier way to do it?
Thanks.

Hi SiG_ZA,
Why are you trying to join them?
If it's so you can have a continuous MPEG for authoring a DVD then there's no need - just put them in the right order during authoring and it should be OK.There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

You are of course right.
I just think it is neater to have one large mpeg on the DVD.
Also, later, if one extracts the mpegs from the DVD there will be several small files instead of one nice large one. -
Interesting theory, but I think if you try it you'll find that it doesn't work that way. All the mpeg video clips will be authored into one continuous VOB file set with no separation like in the original video. Extraction of the mpeg will be based on the VOB file set, either separated based on the VOB's or one big mpeg.Originally Posted by SiG_ZA"Art is making something out of nothing and selling it." - Frank Zappa

Silly question. What type of audio is it looking for then?Originally Posted by mikiem

I believe it'd be MP2.Originally Posted by SiG_ZAThere is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

Also get the same missing sound issue using AC3. So is it only happy with MP2?Originally Posted by daamon

I would strongly believe that it'll only join MPGs with MP2 audio.Originally Posted by SiG_ZA
The solution? De-mux your MPGs into M2V and WAV. Join the two M2Vs with TMPGenc and join the WAV with any audio editor - Audacity is free and good.
Then mux the M2V back with the WAV, though I doubt if TMPGEnc will do this. There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

Nope, it can't. Real pity. Pay all that moneyOriginally Posted by daamon

The only free muxer seems to be ImagoMPEG-Muxer. I will try this. Are there any other good muxers out there?
