    Hi.

Which version of VirtualDub must I use in order to be able to play AC3?

I tried VirtualDubMod 1.5.10.2, but it doesn't play back AC3.

Or do I need a plugin fior the "regular" VirtualDub?

    Any help would be appreciated?

    Thanks,

AFAIK it's nothing to do with virtualdub.

I'd say you don't have an AC3 codec installed. Try AC3Filter.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    AC3Filter 0.70b is installed.
Are you sure that VirtualDub requires codecs?

AFAIK, AC3 needs to be built-in, otherwise AC3 doesn't work. Google showed that there was a VirtualDub version 1.4.8, which had the suufix AC3. However this one didn't play AC3 either.

Yes, VDub needs to have the correct codecs installed just like any other program. AC3filter is a DirectShow filter, I know VDub uses VFW codecs, so maybe that's the problem. I use the AC3 ACM Decompressor with no problems.

Safesurfer is correct - The AC3 ACM Decompressor is what to use. AFAIK, no version of VDub has AC3 decoding "built in".
