    I have used this converters:

    avone converter
    superav converter
    123 converter
    absolute video converter
    dr divx
    oss video converter

I have used only demo mode so i dont know full potencial of all this programs. Can someone tell me which is the fastest. Is there some other better converter on the net?
I think that speed is the most important with converters.

    Codecs that i use:

    Video codec:
    Divx 5.2.1
    Xvid Mpeg-4 codec

    Audio codec:
    Mpeg layer-3

Is there some better codecs so i can shrink my videos more?

    what is your source video?

i only use virtualdub,virtualdubmod,virtualdubmpeg2 and avi.net for my divx/xvids encoding.

  3. What program you use doesn't make as much a difference in encoding time as the codecs used and their settings. I use VirtualDub and its variants for its flexibility. Usually with Xvid and Lame MP3 audio.

If you really want small file sizes try the x.264 video codec. It's pretty slow though.

There is no such thing as one tool / codec for best all around. Even different tools can generate different output using the same codec. It's all in the eye of the beholder.

    You are right.
That was the reason why i have posted this thread. Experts who had tried all converters knows which is the best for certain format (rm, mov, wmv, avi). I was hoping that some expert could tell me his opinion about tis converters.

No one could have tried "all" of the coverters on the market, and therefore any opinion one may have would be for the specific one s/he have tried, and then the opinion would be purely subjective. What may be tolerable to him/her may not be to you. Then what's the point of asking?

For example, I consider VCD video tolerable, where as someone like, say... Guns1inger demand nothing less than DVD quality video.
