Hello all my name is Brian. My problem is that i want to capture video with final cut pro then export to DVD (I mainly use iDVD just for simplicity) When i go to watch my final product back it is one big clump of video.... What i would like to do is be able to have an index of the avaible videos cut into lets say 48 pieces. Almost exactly like they have in conventional DVD movies, you have a Play movie and a scean selection. I don't want to go in and make chapters one by one i would rather have a way i can make a default markers for 48? Please someone help me....

Just in case you don't get the info you need here, there are two excellent sites for FCP info. One is Ken Stone's site at http://kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/fcp_homepage_index.html and the other is the Final Cut forum at http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=123

if you add chapter marks to your timeline in fcp, then export through compressor, they will be available as chapters when you import the asset into dvd studio pro. position the playhead on the timeline where you want the chapter, press M to add a marker, then press M again to open the marker menu, choose CHAPTER MARKER, click ok. repeat as necessary...

WHAT?
SoundFX, you only need to press M once, not twice?
Repeatedly pressing M will create Chapter Markers
in the same spot, and eventually the Mac will
beep at you for it.
I just checked this in DVDSP3, and sure enough,
you press M twice, you get TWO chapter Markers
in the same spot, and the Mac beeps "error".
The Inspector palette automatically changes to the Marker Palette,
and you can name the Chapter Marker from there
as well as set its end jump in the timeline, once you've
pressed M once on the keyboard, when playing the video in the timeline.
Perhaps your setting/config is off? I'm using the
Advanced Config in DVDSP3...."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."

you don't also have to remember to set the "import Chapter Markers"
