Ripping - Dave Mathews band way out of sync (audio)

I'm going out of my mind ripping this cd. I've ben at it
for 2weeks streaight, and still can't get the audio right.
i.e.,
* if I start from the begining, it plays ok, (haven't
stayed through whole wave (playing via the mediaplayer).
* only 19:59min. show up in any wav app.
* when I jump to, say the middle of mediaplayer, it jumps
and studders, and replays 1 sec, jumps to next, replays
1 sec, etc., etc.
* video, at start, video flies accross, then shows an intro
looks to seem it will play through the right way.
I haven't watched/listen to whole final rip, that is:
rip/dvd2avi/tmp...

My goal:
* to successfully make an mp3 cd of songs and burn to CD.
* to experiment on vcd'ing the DVD.

can give more detail's if needed. Hoping that others have
ripped the "Dave Mathews band"

* and no, cleaning the disk, i've done a zillion times,
for smartripper, and continues to run at 1.6x speed,
no matter how many dvd disks I put in there - dozens.

yeah...i'd suggest abandoning dave matthews band.

i did two years ago!
