I am just starting out on the authoring trail and am transfering old home video tapes to DVD. While playing around with Nero Express, I noticed that you can add a text overlay onto the video at the start of each chapter. I thought this was a great feature and very useful to identify the chapter as the video was playing. However, I plan on using TMPGEnc DVD Author (or Pro). Is there any way to do this in TMPGEnc DVD Author?
Does this process cause the video to re-encode (in Nero or any other)?

The only way to do it without encoding is to use subtitles. I don't think TDA supports subs, and the Pegasys site always seems to hide details like a full and detailed feature list, so I don't know if the Pro version will support them either.
They can be added later using other tools though.Read my blog here.

The "Pro" version still does not support subs.
