Hey I'm new to encore and am working on a family project to test, is there any way to create a menu with music and have animated buttons but have different durations on each of them?

Example: I have a menu with audio that is 20 sec in length, but I want the animated button to loop the video in the button for 10 sec. When I set the "Duration" in the to 10 sec, it cuts my 20 sec menu music to 10.
I don't see a way to have 2 different durations for 2 different things on the same menu? Is this normal or am I missing something?

I don't use encore, so maybe the manual will shed more light, but to have animation, you must have video. If encore allows you to add something else, it will be rendering it to video during the compilation process. In your case it seems to be taking the shortest time frame, possibly because it can't loop individual elements to fill out a longer one.

You could try setting the button for 20 seconds to see if encore loops it twice, or do what I do. I use DVD Lab Pro. It also has the facility to create animated buttons etc. Do I use them - not on your life. I create the elements as video and import it as a menu background, then add appropriate sub-pictures. It may be a little more work, but I have control over all the elements, and the output is much better.

Not personally an Encore fan, but should be able to set the button & background vid/audio to loop or hold at end of play, and should have some control over what length of video is grabbed for the button (assuming you're letting Encore pull it from clip) as well as background media duration. I guess basically, as gunslinger suggested, read the docs and doublecheck your settings.

As a guess, I'd say that your 10 sec of button video is not set to loop, or you're setting menu or background duration.
