Hi, I was just wondering how to check if a DVD+RW is finalized? Should Nero do it automatically? Does it do it automatically for DVD+R's? If it isn't finalized, is there a simple way with WindowsXP, nero or something else to do it? Sorry for the basic question, tried searching but couldn't find this anywhere. Dean

OK. I have a portable player that only plays DVD+R's created by Nero, not DVD+RW's. Was wondering if finalizing was the problem. Any other fundamental differences? DVD's created from my DVD recorder work fine.

Not everything plays RWs weel or at all. They have different surface properties to regular - or + Rs that some players just don't like.

but in my case, dvd+rw's work when created with my dvd recorder. so it's picking stuff up. i'll have to keep experimenting i guess.

  6. Don't use Multisession when burning in Nero. That will give you a RW disk with a finalized single session.

thanks. i'll have a look for the multisession option when i get home. i'm using the dvd-video option, not burning rom software because i want to convert avi files first. can't remember seeing it but will have a look. maybe i should put the dvd files to the hard drive first and then burn them using burning rom.
