Hi,
I have produced a few programmes that I sell on DVD and these have been made using Nero. I have had no problems with copies sold in UK but I am now being asked to supply both USA and Australia. What I am really confused about is not only will DVDs made in say Nero for Australia or USA be OK but do regions come into play. When I make the DVDs at no time am I asked to specify regions so if I choose to make one for Australia will Nero sort the region out automatically?

Regions won't come into play. Regions also have little to do with format other than coincidence. In Australia I can buy legitimate studio releases that are region coded as Region 4 in both NTSC and PAL format. Sometimes the studios are too cheap to re-encode the movie into PAL for us.
Australia should have absolutely no problems playing your discs. We share the same format (PAL) as the UK.
The US, on the otherhand, will probably have a problem in the majority of cases. While players are available that play both PAL and NTSC in the US, the majority play NTSC only. This is where you will have problems.
You can either make it very clear that you supply PAL only programmes, and leave it up to the buyer to sort it out, or you can produce NTSC versions for sale to NTSC countries (US, Japan, some parts of South America etc). There are a number of ways to do this. I would look at the guides associated with DGPulldown, in the Tools section to your left, as a starting point.
Region is not your problem. Format is.Read my blog here.

THey will be region free if you are authoring and burning with nerovision. Or do you author with something else? and just burn with Nero?
But you will get problem with PAL/NTSC, many dvdplayers, tvs in USA does not support PAL. Google for pal ant ntsc for more information.
edit: too sloooow...
