  1. Hi,

Recently I bought a Samsung Home Theatre (Model: Samsung HT-UP30).
It is playing DivX files (avi files) only of size smaller than 1GB.

Is it a limitation of player? Player Manual doesn't specify any such limitations.
Is there any hack/tool to make the player play big avi files?

Or Any good tool to split huge avi file to multiple smaller avi files without compromising quality.

    Regards,
    Jeyakumar CK

1 GB is a limitation of the ISO9660 file system, which is typically used for data CD/DVD. If you have files > 1 GB, the burner app is using something like UDF (maybe without letting you in on the secret), which the player might not handle.
    Use VirtualDub to split AVIs.

Actually, the limit is 2GB's. Same limit for old type avi's. A 1GB limit is just weird. Haven't heard of it with any other players.

Correct - my mistake. Maybe some connection with 1 GB max VOB size?

  6. When I first got my Liteon LVD 2002 Divx/DVD player I found it wouldn't play files over 1GB on ISO disks. Eventually I figured out that finalizing the disks increased that to 2GB (the limit for the ISO file system) and enabled long filenames.

The UDF file system supports files up to 4GB. I haven't had occasion to test that on my player.
