I recently had a custom intro dvd made for my HT setup and was wondering if there was a way I can reauthor it to include some movie trailers....

The DVD contains a random trivia section and I assume that simply reauthoring with some of the typical software would not maintain that random behaviour (especially since most apps wind up deleting the dvd menu when reauthoring....

Anyway I am a newbie when it comes to random portions of DVD's and how to reauthor them....

If anyone can point me in the correct direction please do!!

    Thank you!!

The problem with re-authoring comes from having to re-use or re-create whatever's in the IFO files -- the logic that's used for example with a simple on-DVD game.

You should be able to author a new DVD combining old and new titles, then copy over whatever you need from the original ifo files using Pgcedit. Or you could try one of the authoring apps that will import existing DVDs, but I'd lean towards Pgcedit. One of the re-do sort of prog might also work well.

okay so it sounds like you are saying that the random stuff is defined in the ifo files....I didn't realize that...

    I will check out Pgcedit....

Just in case this becomes a problem, do you know of any authoring apps which do import an existing dvd??

    thank you!!
