  1. I have a older video on a vhs tape..Used to have sound but now I only hear a snipet of sound when it starts..then no sound..anyone have a clue on how to get the sound to come back or what happened to it

    You might try playing with the tracking buttons.

  3. I do believe the audio track on a VHS tape is at the bottom half, so it's usually the very first to go if you store your tapes lying down(same orientation if inserted into VHS player)

    I remember hearing that you should store your tapes on end to prevent this audio corruption from happening. Not sure exactly though of why it happens, does the tape get demagnatized or what?

    If this is the case, then you probably will never get your audio back.

    But of course as listed above, make sure of tracking and try another VHS player.
