hello,
I just got the lite on DVD recorder 5104.
but into the 2 issues:
1. RF OUT coax connecting to TV is not outputting anything to TV?
2. LITEon does NOT have any product w/ the 5104 model on their website ?does this make anysense?
thanks,tex

On all of the LiteOn recorders I have seen, the RF connection is pass-thru only. It is used by the unit to record RF signals and also to pass them directly through to your TV. If you want to see the output of the tuner or DVD playback, you'll have to use the direct audio/video outputs.

you are correct.I just realized last night that it is just a pass thru.
Can anybody explain however why lite-on doesn't even show the 5104 as a product that they have? -
They dont show it as a product. Not sure why. They do however have a little info on it. The user manual can be got here http://www.liteonit.com/DC/english/download.htm
And the newest firmware can be got here http://www.liteonamericas.com/us/Download/CE_firmware/5104/LVW-5104%20firmware.zip -
Yeah I noticed that but thank you for the info .
It seems that Lite-on is the one rare company that supports All write techno (CD and DVD recording) .However they don't seem to be very professional in supporting their product :especially when the model is sold on the market but no trace on their website of the product except for the behind the scene manual/firmaware update.
