Frameservers create uncompressed or raw output, otherwise they would be encoders. What is the situation you have that requires this ?

i was just thinking that by having a mpeg2 dummy file with a bitrate of, lets say 8000 kbps you can open it with a fast mpeg2 encoder like "Intercom Mpeg-Video Transcoder" and have a dvd-mpeg file ready in 10 minutes!...

    what do you think?

If the frame server is doing mpeg2 encoding, why would it be any faster than simply encoding to mpeg2 with the correct bitrate to begin with ? The same amount of work needs to be done.

To put it another way, if she wieghs as much as a duck . . . . . .

  8. The answer is no. Each frame would still have to be transcoded (ie. re-inventing the wheel)
